The Douro is such a haven for ripening brightly fruited wines that it works as well for table wines as well as Port. Port is well-loved and there is a lot of interest at the more high quality end, but clearly there is more demand for table wines. This red is a crowd-pleaser, it has attractive and ripe tannins, with a brightly fruited core.
